What is a silent auction?

A silent auction is where items are displayed and guests are allowed to make a bid on each item using their mobile phones.
If a guest wants to take part in the Silent Auction they TURN ON the WiFi option on their mobile phone.
They then search for our FREE WiFi (SilentAuctions) and connect.
Once connected they are automatically taken to the Bidding Screen.
On the bidding screen, each guest is required to input their name and phone number.
They then choose the item (from a list) that they want to place a bid on.
...then it's a case of entering an amount and clicking SUBMIT BID.

The bid amount will show instantly on our giant Silent Auction Screen.
Only the item number and the amount that has been bid will be displayed.
IF someone bids higher, then that will replace the lower bid!

At the end of the Silent Auction each successfull highest bidder will be informed.
A list, complete with Names, Phone Numbers, Item Numbers and Bid Amounts is given to the organiser.
The list will also include the preferred payment method stated by the guest (when first connecting).
